Tustin, CA (December 12, 2013) alPunto Advertising has partnered with the Coast Colleges District, which oversees three colleges and 5 campuses in Orange County, California to study better and more effective ways of attracting Latinos to college, plus ways to make it easier for Latinos to decide to attend college.
The partnership started last month with quantitative and qualitative studies among Latino high school and college students and will continue into 2014 with a set of recommendations and actionable steps that will aim at increasing Latino college attendance in the District. Enrique Turégano, alPunto’s VP explained that “Hispanic college enrollment is below that of non-Hispanic white and African American students; there are two areas where our community lags seriously behind –in education equity and in health equity – and we must all do what we can to help close those gaps if we want to see a healthy and well educated Latino US population in the coming years.”
alPunto is also heavily involved with the American Heart Association in helping to improve health equity among our community. Recommendations for improving
Latino college attendance will be made to the College District Board and its Chancellor in January 2014.
